Nomadya hiked around the mountain. She could have sworn this is where the theif had gone. Still, they didn't seem to be anywhere in sight. With a sigh, Noma plopped down on the ground. Her armor clanked when she leaned against a tree for some rest.
Just then, she noticed something black among the shrubbery, almost completely hidden in a little nook. What in the world?... Nomadya leaned over the object, her braid falling into her face. She brushed it out of the way and gingerly picked up the black, ovular object. It fit perfectly in the palm of her hand. What's an egg doing up here? Just as Nomadya thought it, the shell began to wiggle in her hands.

Squeaking came from within the egg as it wobbled. The noise started quiet, but grew louder and louder. Tapping noises were soon heard coming from within as the being inside tested the walls of it's prison. This tapping also became louder, and was soon accompanied by the sound of scraping as the being struggled for freedom. A small hole appeared on the egg and it stopped moving.
((I'm so bad at this... ))

(haha! no ur not! what else can ya say when hatching an egg? )
Nomadya carefully peeled off a broken chunk of the egg. A peeping noise grew from inside of it as she tried to peek through the hole. She was excited to see what was in the egg, but didn't know if she should be handling it. She didn't give much more thought to it, but sat, entranced in the action of the egg. She waited in anticipation as cracks grew along the sides of the shell and movement stopped.

((True))
The young dragon sat within the darkness, unsure of what was happening. She had been in the darkness for so long, she didn't understand being free. She opened her small eyes. There was a light in front of her, something new and interesting. The dragon slowly moved towards the hole and stuck her head through. The first thing that came into sight was a large thing. A living being of some sort? She sat there watching whatever it was with curious eyes. The dragon let out a small squeak of amusement and retreated back into the darkness off her egg.

Was that a.... no, it couldn't be... Nomadya could have sworn that the thing poking out of the egg looked just like a dragon. But there was no way... Dragons were so rare, and such honorable people had them. She was just a common knight trying to rebel against the tyrant king. Still, she couldn't help but get her hopes up. After all, since she was a little girl she had dreamed of fighting for justice with a dragon at her side.
Curious beyond helping herself now, Noma peeled more of the egg off, revealing part of what appeared to be a small, dark colored creature. She couldn't help herself and reached out her pointer finger, wanting to touch whatever it was that was hiding from her.

The hatchling squeaked again as the large creature started opening the walls of the prison wider. Somehow she was not afraid of the being, but amused by it. The thing reached for her with one of it's fingers, and the dragon responded by brushing against it. A jolt of magic went up the creatures arm, and understanding reached the mind of the young dragon.
This creature was a human female, and she was now her rider. The dragon pushed herself out of the egg, brushing against the rest of her riders hand. She then placed her small head on her riders wrist and looked up at her with innocent eyes.

The creature, instead of pulling away from Nomadya's finger, brushed against her flesh. A jolt when through her and she suddenly felt connected to this dragon. With the magic, she felt exuberant. This was her dream come true.
A symbol appeared on the arm the dragon had just touched. I'm a rider, Noma repeated it to herself but still couldn't believe it. As she processed this thought, the dragon climbed up into her palm. It's face held an innocent expression and its eyes were wide and full of excitement.
Nomadya couldn't help but smile as she connected her thoughts to the dragon's, "Hello, small dragon," she stared at the dragon in awe, "I'm Nomadya."

The dragon lifted her head and squeaked pleasantly, not understanding exactly what her rider had said. The words made her feel happy inside, as her rider's joy reached her mind. One word seemed to stick in her mind; Nomadya, the identity of her rider.
The hatchling stepped away from her rider, and stretched her wings for the first time. She looked at them with curiosity as she moved them up and down slowly. She looked back at Nomadya and squeaked again.

A smile krept again over Nomadya's face as she observed the young dragon. She didn't quite know what to do to communicate with it properly, but she closed her eyes. The connection with the dragon swept over her as it sat in her hand. She sifted through the thoughts of the young one.
"Rowena." She nodded at the dragon once she had found it's name.
Then the dragon flexed its wings and stared at them. Nomadya was at a loss for what to do. However, she had seen mother birds toss their babies out of the nest to teach them how to fly. A similar experiment might be worth a try. Hoping it would flap its wings, she dropped her hand from underneath the dragon while it was a small way from the ground to see if she could teach it what it needed to do.

The dragon let out a pleasant squeak at the sound of her name. The one thing she understood now was the identity a name gave someone. She liked her name. She liked it a lot. But that pleasure didn't last long. Rowena let out a panicked squeak as Nomadya moved her hand out from under her. She flapped her wings quickly, managing to hover in the air for a few seconds before dropping to the ground. She managed to land on her feet, and looked up at her rider with a stubborn expression.
Nomadya, she said, in an innocent and somewhat whiney voice.

Rowena didn't fly so well as Nomadya had planned. She hovered a few moments then plopped to the ground. Then a strange tingle went through her,
"Nomadya," The dragon's tiny voice was inside her head. It sounded kind of distraught. She would wait awhile before teaching it anything.
"Sorry," Noma didn't know if the tiny creature could understand her, but it seemed like an apology was in order. She held her hand on the ground to see if Row would climb back up.
Then a thought hit her and she tried communicating again, "You hungry?" She asked the tiny creature. Hopefully she could teach her to speak better than she could teach how to fly.
